Do You See What I See?

It's been two-and-a-half months since I became a Shredhead, completed the 30 Day Shred in 40 days, and then joined up with Team Bob for continued motivation.

And, while many of my former Shredders have moved on to training for a 5K, I have soldiered on with the videos, trying as many different ones as I can about 4-5 times a week.

Results? You want results? Well, I'm not taking any half-naked shots right now, but I've got something to look at anyway. I started at 138, went up to 140 pounds and am now at my Holy Grail number: 130.

(ignore my unmanicured toes, please)

I even fit back into my size 4 skinny jeans, although they really are a second skin. That's good though, because if they ever got baggy. . . yeesh---that's a little too much weight loss for me. I start to look like a stick figure when size 4's don't fit.

The good news is that I haven't been dieting, I've just been more conscious of what I'm eating and why. When I find myself reaching for a snack because I'm stressed or the kids are eating or "just because", I check in with myself and ask if that's what I really want. Sometimes it is, so I eat, or sometimes I just need a drink or a break or bed. I also haven't been eating after 8pm (except for a few times) and keep a glass of water nearby at all times.

So, yeah for the Shred! Jillian (and Kristen who started this whole bloggy thing) is my hero(ine).

I hate you.

Okay, no I don't. I could never hate you and your fabulous new body. But I really dislike you for having motivation when I can barely get up off the couch. And for fitting in to size 4 jeans. It's just not fair.

*stomps foot*

See? Even that took work. I need to go lie down now.

Nice job!

I don't think I'll ever see 130 again, but that's okay with me. I'm finally beginning to get comfortable in my skin. Too bad it took 45 years.

I think I was 130 in the 9th grade and I'm several inches shorter than you. Blech. You look fabulous and I'm very jealous. Now where did I misplace that motivation?

That was a really annoying post. Sorry. Just Jealous.

Yay for you! Whatever number(s) make you comfortable. I know shedding 25 lbs last year was the best thing I could have done for several reasons and while I'll never be a Jillian, I'm happy with my mushy build!

Think you'll wear skinny shorts when we meet up next month? Cuz you and daisy dukes would be a thrill ;)

Oh Anon, if only you knew how long I've tried to figure out how to get rid of 10 pounds without dieting (I won't diet---long story but let's just say I once weighed less than 115 as an adult and it wasn't a good thing). My sister will attest that we have good metabolisms in our family which helps, but after 40, things really slowed down. The Shred was the first totally doable program that changed my body and I don't even get paid to say that! LOL

Someday I'll post a photo of my non-existent boobs and then no one will be jealous of me (j/k about the photos, not about the size A's).

Yay for you!! I wish my 4's were in sight again. I am making my 6's groan and creak so it is time to evaluate what I am putting into my body and how much energy (none) I am putting out.

Oh, didn't you know? That's an Ikea scale and everything is off size there. So add another 17.2 lbs.

Ha. You look fab!!

Whoa!

Nice buns, baby! And can I say, I'm totally impressed with your stick-to-it-tiveness! That's my downfall.

I'm at an okay weight. I'm just not "fit". I've started jogging while my eldest is skating. And I've been stretching with her in the morning for the past few months. So although I cough blood after running a half mile, I can touch my nose to my knees. A great circus trick, if you put them both together.

Congrats again! Size 4 painted onto your remaining curves is sexy mama!

I am so glad to see someone else say, "I'm not dieting." I started shredding last week and have said the same thing. I stop and think before I shove something in my mouth. Sometimes I choose a better snack, sometimes just water and sometimes the cookies win. My husband thinks it's a cop out, like working out gives me an excuse to have a Drumstick.

Truth is, I would have the Drumstick no matter what, so might as well Shred a bit beforehand.

Congrats on 130!

OH. MY. WORD! Congrats!

And wait, aren't you like, 5' 8" or something? So 130 on that height is mucho impressive. Size 4. Holy crap.

I hear you on the improved awareness around food. I'm not dieting either (unless you count trying to moderate sugar, which is more of a general health and oral hygiene issue) but just find I take a beat and think before reaching mindlessly for a snack I don't really want to eat.

Kudos to you. Fun that we're on a similar track with this (as in, can't run a 5K track). -Christine

Oh my goodness... size 4 jeans? Only in my wildest dreams... congrats to you! That is my ideal weight, but I'm STRUGGLING to get there. I'm not there yet. Not even close. I'm having an impossible time losing weight! One week I do Atkins, the next week, WW. Nothing is working because I'm too focusing on 'dieting' and not just eating better! I am also snacking way too much. Blah.
