Concerts and Nuts

Twenty-four years after seeing him for the first time, I will again see Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band perform in August. I haven't bought a single piece of his music since that "Born in the USA" tour, but I'm still tickled. Wonder if he'll finally realize he should've pulled me on stage to dance oh-so-many years ago?

And, after the brouhaha over my peanut post and Mrs. N's comments, I thought it a strange coincidence that I saw
this article today. Maybe the peanut butter should be shelved for a while after all.

Hey, I saw him perform during the Born in the USA tour, in Syracuse, NY. And...wait for it...our Little Tykes wagon was assembled by Larry Eagle, who happens to have been the drummer for him on the American folk music album he did 2 years ago. Mr. Eagle happens to be our neighbors' son-in-law, and a heck of a nice guy, to boot.

So, I've got only 2 degrees of separation from the Boss.

And that's a fascinating article!

So so SO jealous...

Re the peanut allergy, that must be SUCH a scary thing for a parent (and of course child) to have to deal with every day. It's odd, here in Israel babies are practically weaned straight onto "Bamba", a peanut-based puffed snack (think cheese doodle made from peanuts), yet you almost never hear of peanut allergies. OTOH, most Israeli kids don't eat much peanut butter. Except for mine, who would probably starve without it, but bringing it to school is not a problem here.

That's interesting. Makes me think a little before I make yet another PBJ sandwich for breakfast....

So according to that, since I skip a few days here and there with no PB, I am not putting the baby in danger?
Hmmmmm.....

Oh. My. God. How I do love the boss. I'm pretty sure I can sing The whole Thunder Road album from beginning to end.

I'm laughing at the memory of Courtney Cox up on stage "dancing" with Bruce. And yeah, the quotations marks in that last sentence are completely intentional.

And now I have to go to Israel and get me some of this "Bamba" -- it sounds divine. Peanutty cheese doodle. Be still my heart.

You HAVE to get Magic. It is fantastic, a perfect coda to Born To Run. I could write a complete thesis on the subject, it's that good.

I'm so jealous you're getting to see him. I wanted to, but alas and alack, I cannot afford it.

Yes, Alpha. "Peanutty cheese doodle." I want it. And I want it to taste the way I imagine it would.
