If the shoe fits. . .

A little while back, I was in an exceptionally snarky mood and posted the following statement on Facebook and Twitter:

No one over the age of ten should be caught dead wearing Crocs or Uggs.

Look, I realize they are comfortable, but so are Pajama Jeans--at least that is what the infomercial says--and I'd never be caught dead in those either.

So, it was interesting to me that I looked down at my feet as I returned from walking the dog and saw this:

Photobucket

Why, hello there! You look suspiciously like Uggs. On my feet.

Well, a clarification: Fake Uggs (F'Uggs, if you will).

And, yes, they are on my feet. Pot, meet kettle.

How these homely, shapeless boots ended up on my feet is an easy story: My mom gave them to me. And instead of putting them in the back of my closet, I put them on my feet.

Oh my cushiony goodness. Oh warm toes. Oh toasty ankles.

I get it now.

Sort of.

But I still couldn't bring myself to spend $100 on boots that make me walk like a linebacker.

And don't try to get me into Crocs. I have to draw the line somewhere.

I dare you to try to resist the rubbery goodness that are crocs. I am now the proud owner of not one, not two, but four pairs and I love 'em. And let's not forget what the fashion plate I am. In fact, I'm eying up the ballerina crocs as we speak.......

Ya, my mom gave me what you call pajama jeans for my birthday...but my 13 year old neice says they're called jeggings.

Haha very funny. I too like Shar133 do have a pair of Crocs and love them. But they are not for everyone, lol and as for the Uggs, well they are warm and snuggly but too warm for my feet as I am always warm I am thinking menopause is starting, lol

Crocs are disgusting, but acceptable as gardening footwear. I don't know how people wear them, frankly. My feet sweat and slide around and then they end up all stinky. Ick.

There are zillions of pairs in my house, but none of them are mine.

Uggs I can stand on say cold winter days like today. But the people who wear them in summer in Los Angeles? Yeah. I'll never get that.

Mine is Toms. I find them very fugly.

I agree with Issas Crazy World - I just don't get the hype behind the Toms! Granted they support a great cause.

Hmm...what secret shame is in my closet...I now own two Vera Bradley bags. For YEARS I resisted those awful bags for old women. Well, one day it was like a switch was flicked. I guess I'm now an old woman who carries awful bags. So sue me. ; )

My daughter received the hand-me-down real McCoy Uggs. We are currently the same foot size, and I keep telling her to grow already so I can take possession. Yummy warmy goodness.

I, too, share your disgust with crocs. I just don't get it.
