Embracing my inner weird and showing off some muscles (sic)

I've done it.

I'm Going to BlogHer '09

I've booked a ticket to attend the "big" BlogHer in Chicago this summer. Just typing this makes my hands sweat, but I know how excited I'll be to meet some blogging friends in real life.

I can't really justify the expense---it's not like I'm raking in big ad bucks (any ad bucks)---nor do I ever expect to be an "A-Lister", but after doing this for (gulp) two-and-a-half years, I want to get in on the party, learn a few new things, meet some of the people behind the blogs I love, and have an excuse to visit one of my favorite cities.

Plus, the 23rd is my birthday, so when I arrive Thursday night, I will be ready to have a little fun. Will you be there too?

For those of you who don't know what the heck I am talking about, I will leave you this little gem:

Photobucket

It is Jilly, posing with her muscles--er mussels. Yes, those are the shells of the ones she ate all by herself.

Photobucket

Impressive, eh?

Yay! See you in Chicago. I need to sign up soon...
It'll be way more fun than Boston because now we already know each other & can get straight to the drinking.

Wow, that's a lot of mussels for such a small person!

I think BlogHer will need to wait a year or two for me. So for now I will eagerly wait to hear your report. :)

I really envy you. Everybody will be living it up in Chicago and I'll be bearing down with a stick in my mouth in Los Angeles. Or screaming for an epidural. Whatever. Lol. ENJOY IT!!!! =) I'm sure it'll be lots of fun to get to meet other bloggers!

She can out-eat my 12-year-old son in the mussel category. Wow! Congrats on that. And for going to BlogHer.

Wow. My son's the same way. He "eats me under the table" with mussels and clams all the time, and that's saying something. Yum!

I'd go to BlogHer but I am poor. Poor and phobic about travelling and fairly convinced that EVERYONE WOULD HATE ME.

Girl can eat mussels! We could hang out - I love 'em, too.

Hmmm...I'm going to have to see if BlogHer would count as a business trip for me :) Probably not but a girl can dream.

And I can share my good food news - Abby tried calamari the other night and LIKED IT. The child who only eats mac n' cheese and french toast sticks tried squid. You go girls!

I'm going! I'll be clutching a drink most of the time, to combat my nervousness, but I'm going.

Mmmm. Mussels. Now I'm hungry.

Have fun at BlogHer. I am very jealous but will be living vicariously through everyone who does attend, so take many pictures.
