Like Sands Through the Hourglass

8:12am, the morning after Mother's Day:

Youngest is in time out.
Middle is eating pizza.
Oldest is still in bed.

I'm pretty certain they are all mad at me for something. How quickly Mother's Day passes!

In fact, it passed so quickly, I didn't get a chance to point you toward Mary Alice's lovely column that was an ode to our moms. I wrote a little ditty about something my own mom used to say to me, over and over again.

After reading the piece from Mary Alice's own mom, I just have one thing to ask my husband: Do you drink pulp in your orange juice?

Hope all the moms out there had a lovely day and the residual effects are still with you this morning.

Yesterday was very relaxing and I didn't have to yell/remind them once.

This morning? Gah. I was ready to pull my hair out by 8:30 (thankfully two are now at school). Just getting out the door - daughter couldn't find any "uniform approved" shoes yet she owns three pairs, she lost her tie, the other one couldn't get her shoes on and they were all fooling around. Boy will I be glad in 4.5 weeks when school is done!; 7:47 AM
Suburb Sierra said...: I must have pushed the Mother's Day envelope too far yesterday because as I was tucking the red head into bed last night I mindlessly said, "for mother's day will you please stay in your room and leave your brother alone because he didn't nap so he's very tired". Her response, "Really? When is this Mother's Day over?"
